Villa Blanca Hosts

The property was originally built as the residence of a wealthy automotive heiress who converted it into the infamous St. Thomas Club. After leaving St. Thomas in the early 70's, "CC" Dodge put the property on the market and the Smith family bought it in 1973. They have called it home since. In 1986, the present owner and Gen. Manager, Blanca T. Smith, remodeled the buildings into a special island getaway under the name of Villa Blanca. Along with her daugher, Shelly, and son Eugene, Blanca takes great pride in making her guests feel welcome by offering them what has become the trademarks of Villa Blanca:    Personal Service and True Island Hospitality.

You will be warmly greeted with the Smith family smile and sunny disposition. Soon after, you will be feeling that this hilltop haven is truly your tropical home away from home.

Blanca is originally from Puerto Rico and Shelly and Eugene grew up in the Virgin Islands. All of your hosts are bilingual in Spanish and English and are happy to greet Spanish speaking quests.


  In addition to assisting in the operation of Villa Blanca Hotel with his family, Capt. Gene is a USCG certified captain who operates Reel Therapy Sportfishing, his full time sport fishing and marine tour business. Fishing the Virgin Islands' waters since the age of 10, his experience and enthusiasm for the sport of fishing and his love for the water, led him to open Reel Therapy in 1999. As a professional fishing guide in St. Thomas, he offers deep sea fishing trips to the famous North Drop and the South Drop as well as scenic inshore fishing trips around the outer cays of St. Thomas/ St.John. Gene also offers personalized marine tours of the beautiful Virgin Islands.
